Financial Algebra For Middle School

Give your child the financial and mathematical confidence most students never receive.

The Financial Algebra Academy is a specialized 6-week enrichment program designed to teach students how math applies to real money decisions, business thinking, and financial responsibility. This program bridges the gap between academic math and real-world success.

Taught by an accounting professional with an MBA in Finance, this program combines math instruction with practical financial literacy skills students will use for the rest of their lives.

A Program where:

✔ Build real academic confidence
✔ Develop financial intelligence early
✔ Strengthen critical thinking

✔ Prepare for higher level math
✔ Develop independence and responsibility
✔ Long-term money thinking

Writing Confidence

Academy

Most students struggle with writing not because they lack ability — but because they’ve never been shown a clear process.

This program helps students move from confusion to confidence by teaching them how to organize ideas, write effectively, and express themselves with clarity.

Instead of guessing what to write, students follow simple systems that make writing easier and more structured.

✔ Build writing confidence
✔ Improve organization and vocabulary
✔ Develop real communication skills

Math Confidence

Foundations

Many students struggle with math simply because they’re missing key foundational skills. When those gaps build up, math starts to feel frustrating and overwhelming.

Math Confidence Foundations focuses on rebuilding those essentials step by step in a small, supportive group. Students work through core topics like fractions, decimals, and problem-solving in a way that actually makes sense — not just memorization.

As their understanding improves, so does their confidence. Parents often notice less stress during homework and a more positive attitude toward math.

Literature & Book Club

Society

Reading should build confidence, not feel like a chore. This program helps students engage with books in a way that improves both comprehension and communication.

In Literature & Book Club Society, students read, discuss, and explore stories together in a small group setting.

They learn how to think critically, express their ideas, and connect with what they’re reading.

By the end, students become more confident readers and stronger communicators — both in discussion and writing.

We’ve struggled to find programs that are the right fit for our gifted rising fifth grader. Maya has really enjoyed this program - she is engaged, excited, and always looks forward to attending. As a parent, it has been incredibly reassuring to find a place where she feels both challenged and inspired. Carissa does a great job communicating during the session. Her positive approach has helped Maya feel confident. We look forward to trying a few more programs Carissa has to offer!

As a homeschooling parent I am constantly looking for classes that may teach a skill in a different way or provide another point of view for my children. When I saw Carissa's Financial Literacy class, I was excited! Since the first class, my kids have loved going! They are excited each week to go. They also started using the skills right away. They were figuring out sale discounts and tax on products, and were proud to show off what they learned. Carissa has a knack for making learning fun! I would highly recommend her classes and tutoring
